Community Assistance Program

Council is committed to encouraging community groups within the council area to conduct projects and events that demonstrate a positive impact for the community. The Community Assistance Program (CAP) has been created as a way of empowering individuals, community organisations, sporting groups and community groups to apply for funding to progress and improve the local area and directly benefit the community through planned assistance and equitable distribution of limited funding from Council. Council sets aside an annual budget allocation for this program with applications open from 1 July to 31 August each year.

CAP is split into four funding categories to respond to different needs in our community. Application forms and Guidelines can be found below:

Community Group Loan Policy

The Community Group Loan Policy aims to provide direction for the issuing of loans to not for profit  community and sporting groups. This applies to all requests received from community and sporting groups for financial support by way of self-supporting loans.

Community loans will only be considered for capital renewal, replacement upgrade and acquisition and will no be considered for ongoing operational expenditure. This program can be used to leverage large external grant applications that require dollar for dollar matching funds.

Individual Sport & Cultural Grant Program

The Individual Sport & Cultural Grant Program has been designed to recognise the personal  achievements of individuals residing in the district by the provision of financial assistance. These grants are to assist eligible residents to participate in sporting and cultural events to achieve their sporting, music, art or cultural goals.
