Review of 2019-2029 Community Plan

Council have recently undertaken a minor review and subsequently amended our 2019-2029 Community Plan.  Whilst the proposed adjustments are minor in nature and do not require legislative community engagement, we would like to inform you of the suggested additions.   Council has included the following new considerations as either outcomes, actions or targets within the existing themes of; ‘A Thriving Destination’, ‘Best Practice in Planning’, ‘Excellence in Assets & Infrastructure’, ‘Strong Communities’, & ‘Progressive Leadership’:

  • Recognition of the importance of fishing to the community
  • Recognition of the importance of the Kingston Jetty, even though not a Council owned asset, to the community
  • Volunteering
  • Arts & culture
  • Emergency & disaster management
  • Environmental sustainability

Other project milestones such as the Kingston Foreshore Precinct Project & the Kingston Foreshore Caravan Park have been adjusted to reflect achievable timelines.
