UPDATE - Cape Jaffa Marina

1st April 2020

THE PIPE IS IN!

NO - this is not an April Fool's Day joke, but a genuine update to confirm the submersible pipe now largely lies on the bottom of the Cape Jaffa Marina! This project and marina closure has been to facilitate the dredge on the western side to address the sand that is, and will continue, to accumulate there.

Our team have been working hard to meet our 4 week project deadline, and they have succeeded. We are pleased to confirm that the Marina will re-open TOMORROW afternoon Thursday 2 April. Please note that due to boat ramp pontoon repairs, it is likely that only one lane will be open.

Can we take this opportunity to remind boat owners, that unless you are accessing the marina for essential services, i.e. professional fishing, and in accordance with Federal Government mandate, you are discouraged in using the marina at this time. To re-cap, you should only be leaving home for the following reasons:

(1) Shopping for what you need
(2) Medical care or compassionate needs
(3) To exercise, provided it is in compliance with the gathering rules (no more than two people in a group)
(4) For work and education if you cannot work or learn remotely
