Kingston District Council is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ian Hart.
Ian brings extensive leadership experience to Kingston District Council having been a CEO in multiple organisations, in addition to several senior executive team roles, across a diverse career spanning local and state government as well as community-based organisations, including Derwent Valley Council, Regional Development Victoria, Bendigo Heritage Attractions, Bendigo Jockey Club and Thoroughbred Racing SA.
In his current role as Director Community Development at Kangaroo Island Council, Ian has played a key role in economic strategy and manages a division comprising development services, community engagement, communications, tourism and events, customer service and grants.
Mayor Pope said, “Ian’s extensive leadership background and experience living in and working with regional communities makes him well equipped to lead our Council and will see him make a valuable contribution to the Council and the community”.
In accepting the CEO at Kingston District Council, Ian said he was excited about the opportunity to join the Kingston District Council team.
“I look forward to working closely with Councillors, staff and immersing myself in the Kingston community” he said.
Ian will commence duties with Council on Monday, 29 January 2024.
