Northern Limestone Coast Regional Assessment Panel

Following the recent launch of the new planning system in rural areas under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (PDI Act), the Kingston District Council, Tatiara District Council and Naracoorte Lucindale Council have constituted the Northern Limestone Coast Regional Assessment Panel (RAP).
Operating under the new planning system and the PDI Act, the RAP is responsible for assessing a range of development applications in the areas of the member councils.  The panel will consist of up to five members – one member of the panel will be an Elected Member from one of the member Councils and the other four must be accredited professionals – planning level 2 under PlanSA’s Accredited Professionals Scheme.  One of the accredited professionals will be appointed to the position of presiding member of the RAP.
The Northern Limestone Coast RAP replaces the Council Assessment Panel for each Council and will enable a more consistent approach to planning across the three Council areas, as well as creating opportunities for resource sharing and providing greater efficiency in the assessment process for planning applications.
