Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026-2030
Kingston District Council is committed to the prosperity and success of its community. It acknowledges that disability is a part of the natural diversity of life and that people with a disability need to be included in all aspects of community life.
Through the development and implementation of Kingston District Council’s Disability Access Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026-2030, Council is confirming its commitment to making community infrastructure, services and programs more accessible, inclusive and supportive for people with disability, including their families and carers. The DAIP will inform key actions, financial commitments and decision making of Council and enable us to continue to develop an accessible, equitable and inclusive community for all.
Kingston District Council adopted the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026-2030 on 19 May 2026. A link to Council's DAIP can be found below:

Kingston District Council engaged disability services provider and advocate JFA Purple Orange to consult with our community to support the development of the new Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP), with the aim to develop a more targeted set of actions for its second DAIP. These actions will be specific, measurable, and achievable, be based on community feedback, address the State Disability Inclusion Plan’s measures, and align with the Plan’s five outlined domains:
- Inclusive Environments and Communities
- Education and Employment
- Personal and Community Support
- Health and Wellbeing
- Safety, Rights and Justice.
