Council has released a Community Notice providing a summary of the history, current status and future focus for dealing with matters at Cape Jaffa Marina.
There has been a lot of community debate of late about the historical and current facts of the Cape Jaffa Anchorage Development. In particular, about the impact on Council for the responsibility of ongoing sand management in the vicinity.
This Community Notice provides an update to clarify matters for the community. It explains Council’s current obligations and its strategies in respect of future sand management, including plans to mitigate the ongoing cost. It does so in the context of also seeking to work with developers and landowners to achieve growth in new homes within the development.

Cape Jaffa Marina - Dredging Update
Council wishes to advise the community that Maritime Constructions will be onsite at Cape Jaffa Marina by the end of this week - a little later than we had hoped which was however subject to EPA approval and contractor availability.
Prior to commencement of dredging, enabling infrastructure including pipework and completion of a pre-dredging survey will be completed.
Once dredging commences, Council will provide regular updates on timeline for completion and expected re-opening of the marina.
